And UMass is at home.

NIU is a bad team. 2-7 overall. 1-4 in MAC.

It’s 45-0 in the 4th.

ETA: 6:23 left. NIU defender falls down. UMass receiver all alone heading to end zone. Drops the easy touchdown…

UMass settles for a field goal even though they are down by 45 points with 6 minutes left.

Kick is good and fireworks go off at the stadium. I wish I was making this up.

45-3

This is truly a different level of horrible.

They were a good 1-AA program (with a national title in '98) before they upgraded in 2012. They've been nothing but atrocious every year since.

The fireworks clip got retweeted by Barstool for anyone interested

genuine question - Is UMass worse than we were AT OUR WORST?
if so, what makes them worse?

Horrible support for the program. They have never had any success since they upgraded to FBS football without any plan. We've invested in the program, they have not and are just plain horrible this year.

Has UConn ever went winless?

UConn still beat them, twice in 98 (the Huskies just ran into the #1 seed Georgia Southern in the second round and couldn't stop their option attack)

UMass may seem worse because it is happening now, but the screams for us to scrap fb or downgrade to fcs were not only coming from naysayers from across the country, you only had to go onto the bb boards on this forum to see the same.

AI Overview The 2018 UConn Huskies are widely considered the worst FBS defense of all time, setting records for the most points allowed per game (\(50.41\)) and yards allowed per game (\(617.5\)) in a single season. Other historically bad defenses include the 1995 UNLV, 1994 Ohio, and 2018 UConn teams, all of whom suffered from exceptionally poor defensive performance in a given year. 2018 UConn Huskies: This defense holds the modern records for the worst season, giving up an average of \(50.41\) points and \(617.5\) yards per game.
