East Carolina beat FAU last night 49-14, besting our score against FAU by 1 point. ECU managed 343 yards passing and 238 yards rushing vs. our 121 yards passing and 421 yards rushing. ECU's defense gave up 262 yards passing whereas our D held FAU to 87 yards passing, though they held FAU to 137 yards rushing compared to 163 yards for us (really not much of a difference). I mention this as ECU is ranked at 104 in Massey's composite compared to our 75 ranking. Our defense has been a major highlight this season, not withstanding game 1 and last week's drop in performance. With a more effective passing attack, we have a solid all around team.

ECU absolutely torched FAU holy moly.

I lament not having SEC network as I wanted to see Vanderpimp show up during the South Carolina vs. Vanderbilt game tomorrow. That character's been a hoot this season.

BC and Cuse are tied at 14. BC has no passing offense, running all over the place and then go for a pass and turn the ball over. They are killing their D.

We are more like BC than the Cuse. Can we run successfully against the Cuse in a couple of weeks? That will be a big test for us.

Same old same old from Miami — trailing against an unranked opponent.
Can they stage yet another 4th quarter comeback?.

Eventually they’re gonna play a really good team and get blowed out.

lol Canes score in the 3rd quarter and decide that being down 21-17 with 17.5 minutes isn’t good enough. Not they need to go by 2, which they don’t get.

GT scores a TD.

So then when Canes are driving later and can’t kick a FG because it would only get them 9. They go for it on 4th and 16! Which they don’t get either.

Instead of being within 1 score with 10 minutes to go, they are still down 12. All because coaches go for 2 points waaaaaaaaaaay too early and leave dependable 1 points on the field.

Fortunately for GT that they won. One of their running backs went out of bounds with over 2 minutes left instead of trying for first down and more importantly staying inbounds. That could have really hurt GT but they then made another first down and running back slid to stay inbounds.

UConn is having trouble running against UAB so not looking good against Cuse at this point.

Seems like they've been flirting with it for a while, finally bit them today.
They have a terrible defense. Great QB, lots of guys on offense that can go, but their defense gives it up in all sorts of ways. Just not sustainable, even if they do win their league.

And again.ole Miss scores a TD in the 3rd and goes for 2. Why are teams so willing to forgo a point when there’s so much time left?

Outside of the winner of their league? Seems so.
They aren't even guaranteed of that are they?

edit--yeah, 5 highest rated conference champions by the selection committee, so there isn't exactly an auto bid for anybody

That's disappointing. I was hoping some of the sec would get squeezed by upstarts
I would like that as well, but these other leagues make it easy for them. For instance, the ACC could really have benefited from say an undefeated Miami vs a one loss Clemson, but both teams blew it. Now the Big 12 is doing it, and it just goes on and on.

Miami lost. SMU is alone in 1st place in the ACC. The only undefeated team, 5-0 in the ACC. They still play BC, UVA, and Cal.

At last overrated Miami goes down 28-23 at GT.

SMU in the drivers seat in ACC now.
That's too bad. I was hoping they would go undefeated into the playoffs so I could puts some money down on their first opponent. Now with the loss I think the Vegas lines will reflect them being overrated.

After spotting Tex Tech 13 pts, Colorado on a 34-7 run.
Buffaloes will be favored in their last 3 games — win all and they make the conference title game.
