If the result of unc is probation for a few years after this judgment it would be an embarrassment.

Big difference here: Weber St. Self-reported the incident and takes full responsibility.
UNC claims that they did nothing wrong when it is pretty clear that they orchestrated the systematic fake grading program. Their lawyers and administration also blocked all efforts to bring this issue to light for many years.
