Stepping back now, looking at the schedule awaiting us, I still believe we can win 3 in BE play, possibly 4. Louisville, Syracuse, and Rutgers are winnable games. All 3 are at home, and I love the fact they are later in the season. The more time our guys have to iron things out, acclimate to new systems, and get more comfortable, the better we will be towards the end of the year. This leaves us with having to "steal" a win from one of @WVU, USF, @Pitt, and @Cinci. I have faith that we will put one game together, out of the four, where our offense, defense, and special teams all show up in the same game.

So, I'm going on record that we will get 6 wins, and are bowl bound.

Admire the optimism, but we will be dogs the rest of the way (even at home). To think we win 4 from here on out is just plain unrealistic imo. We'll pick up 2 or 3 more Ws. I see absolutely no hope on the road against WVU, Pitt and Cincy.

I don't know. We managed to score some points yesterday. Passing was good. WMU's QB was just way to ahead of the curve for our D to handle. He could throw, he could read, his guys could catch. I don't think any QB in the big east matches him. So, we do have a chance of winning four more.

I don't know if we're going bowling or not. If I had to bet, I'd probably bet against it.

As strange as it sounds, I felt better about the team after the Ville loss last year than I do right now. I hope I'm wrong.

love the optimism. hope you are right, but if i were a betting man, i'd bet you are wrong.

Are we even guaranteed a bowl bid with 6 wins in the Big East?

Edit: I should clarify, that I don't mean guaranteed in the literal sense.

At 6-6 I think it would depend on the how the conference shakes out.

i was going to say, "No. No we won't" but the toilet covered it.

I think the toilet means we are on track for the Toilet Bowl. I thought the TB had ACC-MAC affiliations though.

UConn will get a bowl bid if it wins 6. I think the odds of that are a bit less than 50/50.

The team is good enough to win 6 with home games against Louisville, Rutgers, and Syracuse left on the schedule, but it has to learn to close out games.

I'll pass on going to a bowl at 6-6. At some point having the opportunity to playing in the Lizard Lick Towing Bowl that's played in downtown Des Moines shouldn't be something to get stoked about.

I think we really needed wins from both the Buffalo and WMU games to have a realistic hope of going bowling this year.

with the way we have been playing, absolutely not. if we couldnt beat western michigan at home, i dont see how we can beat anybody else on our schedule
