wvu or usf need to run the table in the BE and ooc and goto the bcs and win the game, w/e game it is. just in case we dont get acc/big invites...being in a conf with them as worst case means between wvu/usf/tcu/cincy/lville/uconn, there are a good amount on bcs games the past couple years...a safe bcs bid for several years.

Actually, if this group stays togehter, I don't completely buy that it isn't a BCS conference. It isn't like Syracuse & Pitt have alternted winning the BCS bid. If South florida avoids a swoon, and fisnishes in the Top 25, and West Virginia does, too, and you add TCU next season, a likely Top 15 team as well, it strikes me that it will be a pretty difficult argument that some other conference has a better claim on the BCS bid. The problem of course is that because they are in the Big East, any loss is punished more severely in the polls. So they almost need to finish 11-1 or 10-2 to be considered legitimate.

Even better, we need Nebrich to morph into Doug Flutie and lead us to a 10 - 2 regular season and an upset win over Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl.

if we keep who we have and add a team or two of the likely candidates we'll absolutely be a BCS conference. anyone that thinks losing Pitt/SU is the difference between us being a BCS conference and not should really look at how many bowls those two teams have been in since the New BE began. also, BCS inclusion will become less exclusive, not more exclusive from here on out for political reasons.

If you're rooting for the Big East, you have to root against us winning the conference, plain and simple. The only respect that can be earned for the conference is for a team with a better current profile - read, WVU and USF, to make the BCS bowl, or in the slim chance it can happen, the NCG.
