Usually we play an ACC team every year. With the Maryland series ending this year and the UVA series not beginning until 2016, what are we doing for 2014 and 2015?

I like to think that the absense of a new ACC series is a positive sign about future in the great conference reallignment game.

What non ACC or B1G team should we seek to fill that OOC space? The closest non ACC/B1G is West Virginia. Otherwise, perhaps someone frm the heart of the B12.

We have series now set up with Tennessee and BYU. In theory we play games in Texas and Florida every year.

Some teams we haven't played that should be doable- Kentucky, Georgia or South Carolina from the SEC; Michigan St, Penn St. or Purdue from the B1G; Clemson or VT from the ACC.

Don't expect to see an ACC school sign up for a deal.

2014, there are very few schools that even have an open date. but the acc schools since October have had to find opponents after dropping the nine game schedule. But since Manuel took care of a marquee home game, he has flexibility to go away in 2014 and get a return game set pretty far out. Power teams like that, obviously.

ACC
UNC has three
BC is booked
Duke is booked
Clemson one (that would be a great get by Manuel)
FSU needs one more game
GTech has one (that would be a very good get by Manuel) GTech has only Wofford on its home schedule for 2014.
Miami has one away, one home scheduled.
NC State has room but we just played them.
UVA scheduled
Virginia Tech is booked

Big Ten
Illinois has two open. Too bad Hogan was hated there.
Indiana is booked
Iowa is booked
Michigan on schedule already
Mich State booked
Minn booked
Nebraska booked
Nwestern has one opening
tO$U booked
Penn State booked
Purdue one opening
Wisconsin has two openings, with only Bowling Green scheduled to go to Madison

SEC
Alabama has one open date. let us dream. At least they travel out of state for nonconf games
Arkansas needs three games. Rutgers might have soured them on BE teams though
Auburn needs three.
Florida doesn't leave its borders, so no return game.
Georgia booked
Kentucky no thank you.
LSU needs two
Miss State needs two
Ole Miss booked
Mizzou booked
USCe booked (would be nice to smack them again though)
Tenn on schedule
Texas A&M needs two<<<<awesome game experience
Vandy been there done that

If Manuel gets one of the teams home and home in red, he'd at least get a couple of doubletakes as he wandered around the Guitar Center.

I wouldn't mind seeing Northwestern put back on the schedule (especially as I live in Chicago). I know they originally were signed to a home-and-home deal a couple of years ago, but for some reason it was canceled. We could do much worse than Northwestern.

Also, I don't think UVA will be taken off the table. That game was forced on UVA by the ACC as part of the BC/ACC/UConn settlement.

considering our new found hom in SC recruiting wise, clemson would be a home run. it would teach this fanbase a couple things parking lot wise also...

That was the previous series. This one was agreed to externally.

First, I am hoping for no ACC teams - because we are about to become a conf member.

That said, if the CR door is shut, then I want to play either GT, Clemson or Florida State in 2014 as it would be good for recruiting and good to have a win (I can dream, can't I?) against one of the teams who chose Louisville over us.

FSU and Clemson threw a hissy fit when we were considered for membership in the ACC because of our football program and threatened to leave the conference if we were added....there is about a 0.01% chance that they turn around and schedule a 1:1 deal with UConn.

I am right there with you. My wife is an FSU alum (both undergrad and grad school). That would be a dream macthup for my household!:D

Northwestern or G Tech would be cool. We should try to get Kansas. Then a hoops deal with Kansas.

Heck, I'd schedule any of those schools -- including Boise. I'd offer Alabama a date in Alabama and return date in New York City.

Many years ago when UConn was 1AA, Clemson offered to play UConn for a payday and UConn turned it down.

Personally I'd like for us to play either West Virginia, Syracuse, or Rutgers. Keep some of our old rivalries alive

I'd like to see UConn/Rutgers continue. One, they are usually good games. Two, we need to prove to the B1G that we partner up well with RU. Three, we need to keep our recruiting in-roads in NJ alive and well.

I agree, although I doubt they'd want to continue the series. For one thing they know we can beat them, they'd rather pull a BC and hope we wither on the vine. For another thing, I think their OOC dance card will be full of Norfolk State type games.
