Can we come up with a definitive list?

Here are the teams to choose from:

  • Tennessee 1986-1989
  • Louisiana Tech 1987-1990
  • Tennessee 1995-1998
  • UConn 2000-2005
  • Tennessee 2002-2005
  • LSU 2004-2008
  • UConn 2008-??
  • Stanford 2008-2012
I know for a fact that there were no starters who started four years for Tennessee in 2002-05 or LSU 2004-08 (a number of players, most notably Fowles and Augustus, started three years). Diana started for UConn in 2001-05. Maya started 2008-11. Kayla Pedersen started for Stanford 2008-11, and Nneka started 2009-12.

I don't think anyone who started for Tennessee in 1995 was still on the team in 1998, but I can't confirm this.

As for 1986-1989, I know Bridgette Gordon was instrumental in winning Pat's first two titles, but did she start all four years in the Final Four? Anyone else who may have during that stretch?

And I also need help with La Tech.

So, I know for sure:

  • Nneka Ogwumike
  • Maya Moore
  • Kayla Pedersen
  • Diana Taurasi
Need some help with Tennessee 1986-89 and 1995-98, as well as La Tech 1987-90.

And one final note: lil' ol' Tiff might just join this exclusive sorority if UConn can get past Kentucky tomorrow. Would be a hell of an achievement if she's able to say that. Clearly, many, many great players have not been able to.

Vols' Bridget Gordon and Sheila Frost in the 1986-89 era. Melissa McCray played in all the games but I doubt she started in 1986 as a freshman, though she usually did her last 3 years. None of the Vols from 1995-1998, as only Laurie Milligan spanned those years, and she wasn't a starter.

No one from the La Tech teams of 1986-89 era was a 4 year starter.

You're beyond my knowledge at this point. But I think I know the records:

Diana: 6-1. Stellar!

Maya: 4-2. Excellent. Half her career losses were in the Final Four.

Kayla: 2-4. Nice but a little short.

Nneka: 1-3 and counting. Big obstacle next game, but we'll see.

I thought that Big Syl started as a frosh, but maybe not.

Well, thanks to DobbsRover, we can adde Bridgette and Shiela Frost. They would have gone 4-2 in Final Four play.

Who is well-versed in Lady Techster history??? I know 1987-90 spanned two different eras: Theresa Weatherspoon and Venus Lacy, but may have been some role players who spanned both eras.

The starters in 2005:

W Jones 23 0-2 0-0 0 3 2 5 0
T Willis 18 0-1 0-0 1 3 2 2 0
T Johnson 40 6-12 1-3 0 5 7 4 14
S Hoston 40 3-8 0-0 0 2 1 1 8
S Augustus 40 10-26 2-3 2 5 2 2 22

Here is the box score. Looks like Fowles played big minutes but did not start. She was 2004-05's version of KML. :)

Thanks. Yes, she played every game that year. Maybe, if she had started, they would have won. :)

Just added an edit to previous post. No one from La Tech, as they went with upperclassmen back then as starters.

I'm only now appreciating what a rarity this is. Maya might have lost twice, but she averaged 28 points scored in those two losses. Both DT and Maya would likely not have started as Freshmen, if not for season-ending injuries to Svet and Kalana.

Not that this is definitive but Venus Lacy mentions 1988, 1989, and 1990, but doesn't mention 1987.

Venus Lacy transferred from Old Dominion and sat out the 1987 season.

CardFan mentioned Pohlen. Did Jeannette start all 4 years? Wiggins started. I thought Ros or another upperclassman started in the backcourt in 2008.

If UCONN win today you can add T. Hayes to the list

Pohlen did not start in 2008. It was Wiggins, Hones, and Gold-Onwude in 3G-ish backcourt.
