I love our fans

I love MSG

I dislike James Breeding

It's hard watching Alex shooting 3's, knowing he's going to miss every one

Let there be no debate, we need Samson Johnson, I love the kid

Hass is so good and maybe still underappreciated

Reed is so important

I love our athletic sophomores

Liam is going to be a different level kind of stud. Caron Butler?

So much fun to watch

I re-watched it as well. Even knowing the outcome, it is entertaining. Agree with you regarding Karaban's shots.

1. 100% agree with the first 3 points
2. AK will be fine. Unfortunately, he’s a streaky shooter and Saturday was bad.
3. Samson and Hass are great role players. We’ll see if they can lead us to the promised land as starters.
4. Reed is very good. I think he should start over Samson, but both are important and need to stay out of foul trouble.
5. If Solo Ball continues to improve his defense, watch out world.
6. Liam is our best player. Huge impact guy.
7. Enjoy your day! Life is fun!

We need shot creators - someone we trust who with the ball can create their own shot and the other team has to defend:

1. Alex
2. Liam
3. Tarris
4. Jaylin
5. Hassan

Then there is the "maybe" list:
1. Aiden
2. Jayden
3. Solo
4. Ahmad

Finally the "oh no" list
1. Samson
2. Youssouf

Dunno - haven't seen them play much: Isaiah, Souleymane

Funny- we start with Alex/Liam/Hassan/Solo/Samson meaning only 3 guys are key to the defense. If Tarris starts, and he is likely due to Samson in the concussion protocol - we get 4 "can create own shot" players meaning there is no double-teaming us as even leaving Solo open for a 3 is not what they want.

Liam is an impactful player but it’s rather lofty, at this stage, to suggest he is on track to achieve Caron’s status.

Caron was huge his freshman year, and got better his soph year...missed some critical FTs vs Maryland in the dance, then bolted to the pros.

Not sure Liam's staying for year 2.

Did Caron have as great an impact at this stage as Liam? Feel like Liam might be close. Stat wise Caron 15/7 his frosh year, Liam 13/6 right now.

When I first began following UConn basketball (by radio in 1953-4), my parents used to ration my time because I would hyperventilate. At age 86, I still can't watch live. I record games, check the live score every 20 minutes or so If we're ahead, I watch the recorded version up to that point. Then I check again, and so on. I never watch when we're behind. I saw very little of the Maui games. There was seldom a moment what I thought it was safe. Even when we're ahead, I check the foul counts in the espn.com box score. If we're in serious foul trouble, I don't watch. I only watch when I know we'll be leading at some point ahead and we're not in foul trouble. I watch to enjoy myself, not to suffer an anxiety attack. Anyone who does otherwise is a casual fan in my book.

I like your passion for this.

Caron scored 26 points in the 2nd half vs Maryland I believe

This is the post of the year. My uncle was a huge Notre Dame football fan, who never watched or listened to a game. He was afraid he would jinx them. He passed away in his 90s back in the 1980s. I think you would have liked him.

I’m a newbie - relatively. Listened to games on radio in mid-60’s. Went to my first game in ‘67 (age 12) Bialasuknia scored 50!
Oh my. My first game was in 1967 vs New Hampshire. Bialasuknia scored 42 and I was 11. I thought the field house was the greatest arena ever. Used to listen to games on my clock radio with the volume turned way down so my mother would not know. The fever has never simmered.

I'll have to rewatch because I didn't think Hass was very good. His shot selection continues to be poor (2-8 and one was a prayer), he's now shooting 22% from 3. He did have seven assists, but continues to over penetrate and get lost. He got incredibly lucky, in a 3 point game, on the AK travel play at the end of the game. Can't remember many times I've seen a guy pick up his dribble, directly under the hoop, and have to make a play. He has a nasty habit of picking up his dribble in terrible spots. Your senior PG cannot take the ball up court, up 5, with 40 seconds left and proceed to dribble into the corner and pick up his dribble. If we didn't have a timeout it could have been a crucial error.

Now he has zero help. I'm shocked at how much Mahaney has struggled so we basically have one "typical" point guard type on the roster and I think, deep down, we all know that Hassan would ideally be your first or second guard off the bench. I'm really hoping Nowell starts to get some minutes once healthy.

Amazing what a common phenomena this is. What is it about sports that makes people's thinking to become completely irrational?

The human brain is structured to function this way. Protecting the tribe trumps any rational thought instinctually, and the more abstract the threat, the more irrational the response. Yay science!

Excellent presentation on why there is no possible reason to keep Nowell from getting increasing minutes.

The future is now.

He will add a number of completely new dimensions to this team not the least of which will be pg skills, speed and above all dog D.

His defense looked a lot better out there. I agree with the statement on his offensive. Another thing he does, he holds the ball for a 1/2 second to long while shooters peel around screens, letting the defender catch up. It may seem like a little thing, but when the timing is right, the shooter can catch and make a split decision to shoot or pump fake and drive. Hass is giving them the ball after the defender has cleared the screen and is back in good defensive position.
Watched the girls game last night and Shade and Chen
