I think that was the reason Penn St, whom many considered a #2, was sent as the #3 there.

Wow - the pain just will not end!!! Cal playing the old TN offense - chuck it up and rebound like crazy! And boy ... fouling Cal is a great defensive game plan as they can't hit from the line. Course it would help if you could defensive rebound the the inevitably missed foul shot!

The red sea has parted for tennessee - they beat Georgia early this year by 12. I sure hope L'ville beats tenn as i'm not sure Georgia or Cal can. And how do you get so many bad FT shooters on the same team???

Cal is a terrible free throw shooting team. Instead of extending the game with a minute left and making them make free throws he elects to play D. Cal's best scorer hits a shot after using 30 seconds.

47 of 133 on field goals

Setting back the course of women's basketball by two decades!
Got to believe that both Louisville and TN are licking their chops at the thought of playing either of these teams in the semis. (How did Stanford lose to Cal and Georgia in the same year?!)

Yeah - but they are unable to rebound the missed free throws so you are just giving Cal a new shot clock every time you foul!

Happy for Cal's coaches and players. First Final Four in school history. That's a big deal for them. I remember 1991 for us. Yes it was ugly but they came from behind to win when it looked like they were dead. Good for them! Louisville or Tennessee will be favored but Cal did win 30 games and just beat SEC's Georgia and LSU so they could still win.

Cal usually wins ugly. They are not a good shooting team and seldom get into any offensive rhythm, so the only way they can win is by disrupting the entire flow of the game. They make the other team play their game. That's why the games are ugly.
