How many people are talking about powerhouse Washington State? My guess...zero.

Yet they have more wins over ranked teams than Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, and Texas A&M COMBINED.

Why is that? Statistical anomaly?

ASU may drop down because of this loss, but they were ranked at the time, while Nebraska is solidly ranked.

They have the 4th ranked SOS in Sagarin, so part of the equation is they have had the chances to beat T25 teams, and ASU they got on a home court though Nebraska was away. At 7-6 they are still only rated #69 in Sags and have twice as many losses outside of the top 50 as those 4 above-mentioned teams combined. Not sure if Texas A&M will stay in the rankings much longer. Not sure if WSU can be considered a juggernaut, but they will be dangerous for any PAC team visiting Pullman.

Washington State and powerhouse don't sound well together. Yikes!

Not a June Dougherty fan and don't think they have any consistency. Predict a middle of the pack PAC finish - which would be good for them.

Phil - having a couple of decent wins does not offset having one decent loss (Gonzaga) and 5 not so decent loses - Hawaii, Dayton, Syracuse, WVU, and BYU. Sorry, hard to get excited by that line-up. On the other hand it does point to some really dreadful scheduling by a number of teams that should be lining up better OOC competition. Even ND has cake walked through an OOC whose highlight is a fast falling PSU.

My point wasn't really to argue that WSU was very good, rather, that a team acknowledged to be so-so still have more signature wins than four teams in the SEC, three of whom are currently ranked, and one who was ranked for much of the season. The SEC is over-rated if those teams can't manage as many quality wins as Washington State.

Can we make WSU an honorary Mid-Major? Maybe it's time they left their league. Of course some spoilsports will want to put them in the SEC. But if they were in the AAC, UConn could leave Memphis and go right to Pullman for a Monday night game. Then we might really have a long road trip instead of this sissy sounding 2 games in 4 days one we just finished.

That schedule is tougher than any of the SEC teams have played so far.. though I guess thats not saying much.
