I had no idea there was so much pushback from the NCAA.
Yes--The NCAA was vehemently against Title IX initially--they grossly misinterpreted the proportionality rule to its member universities to mean "one for one" as far as sports programs for women. They fought for years against having a women's tournament and did their best to quash any alternative associations such as the AAUW. They were gender segregationists of the worst kind...

Good history lesson and good publicity. I can't wait for the NCAA to stop using WCBB to pay for all the other championships they sponsor and to put the women's tournament out for bid as a stand alone product.

They will not get what they get for the men's tournament, but they will have to stop pretending it is a money loser.
