Give Ollie a real ducking contract this week, we have what could be a great team next year but we need a couple more recruits, need a big or 2 deaperately. He's made it clear that our 2 joke football coaches will return but he won't give Ollie a goshdarn contract. Warde, you haven't been here very long but from what I can tell you are ducking up big time. We didn't lose for a lack of effort, we lost because NC State has more talent and we simply couldn't compete with them down low. Too much time has been wasted already, give him a contract now.

I don't think UConn will be a great team next year, unless Daniels or Giffey can emerge as a 7-10 PPG consistent scorer.

BUT yes, for god's sake give Ollie a contract now!

If true that we've lost a potential recruit due to lack of certainty about KO, then Susan needs to decide why Warde is still drawing a paycheck. We can't afford to lose anyone.

Agree, things are tough enough without Warde's self inflected wounds. Give Ollie a contract now and a good one. Herbst and Warde need to think out of the ACC box. Their lack of creativity and frankly just getting out worked is really starting to chip away at what's left. Obviously, Herbst was delusional thinking Warde was a rock star AD.

What he's doing just makes no sense. We aren't going to be able to judge Ollie fairly in one year anyway. If Pasqualoni is going to get at least 3 years than Ollie should get 3.

We could be a scoring big man away from being a Final Four contender next year. Odds are it'll be tough to find anyone good enough, but Ollie certainly is not going to be able to get anyone like that until he has a contract.

If we don't hire Ollie, we're looking at maybe being three years from being competitive again - with a good hire. A bad one, and who knows.

Annnnnd the dopes start screeching again.

Look, there is nothing to be gained by extending him now versus, say, 4 to 6 weeks from now. The fall signing period is done. There is still a ton of time left befor the spring signing period. There is almost no way the extension will happen now no matter how much you guys scream for it. The only thing gained by doing now is to shut you guys up so we don't have to see an anti-manuel thread after every stinking game. The extension will come, if it comes, 2 to 4 games into the big east schedule. All you guys accomplish with this, "either you hate Manuel or you hate Ollie" crap is to make yourselves look like a bunch of whiny children.

It was a nice bounce back by the team today. They battled and it was nice to see. Can't you guys just enjoy that for now instead of CONSTANTLY being so negative and energy black holes.

And all the recruits get to hear it over and over until then? No thanks.

Pasqualoni has a 5 year contract and Ollie has a 7 month contract, there aren't too many things that make less sense than that.
Nor do they have anything to do with each other. One was a move by Hathaway. Why should that have any bearing on what is done with Ollie? Manuel had nothing to do with the Pasqualoni hire. Why are you trying to pin it on him?

They hear it from you guys and the members of the media that are picking up on your dissention. It would fade away for a couple of months if you guys would shut up.

What the PP thing really gives the lie to is the whole "we can give him a 3 year contract with a buyout and achieve the same as a 7 month contract" argument. Sure...sure, you can. It's always easier to let someone go than to fire them.

That said, I sure do like what I've seen from KO so far.

When the AD decides he's p*ssed enough on Calhoun he'll extend the contract. Payback is a b*tch.

Recruiting is constant. Very, very, very few recruits actually commit during the signing period, other than the tiny smattering of ones who don't make up their mind until the spring period starts. It is almost always verbal now, sign later.

There are also mid-year transfers from time to time. Perhaps there could be someone who we could maybe find now who could become eligible next December and be a difference maker. Maybe that won't happen - but it serves our best interest to be prepared if it does, since a transfer would be more likely to provide the immediate help we need than a spring recruit.

Add in that our conference situation is in total flux, so we are simply not an attractive job right now. We're trying to recruit now without a coach under contract or a conference. At least we should have one of the two.

So the 7 month contract is basically a retard move by Manuel. Gotcha.

That is what you got from what I wrote? Really?!

So what you are saying is that you hate black men and like to eat aborted babies.

See how easy that is?

Is that really how you think recruiting works? You think the only people talking about the fact that we currently don't have a basketball coach for next season are shmucks like us on message boards? Recruits are hearing about it every single day from coaches at other schools.

The fact that the spring signing period is several months away doesn't mean anything. Impressions are being formed now and (obviously) plenty of kids commit verbally well in advance of the signing periods. Regardless of what anybody thinks about Ollie, every day that passes where we don't have a coach for next season is another day we lose ground with recruits.

The biggest thing for me is I think it's almost a guarantee that Ollie eventually gets his extension. The chances of luring a big time outside hire reduced drastically with the events of last week. Warde knows this, and I think in his heart of hearts he knows that he's giving it to KO. So what good does it do to wait at this point?

Biggest reason we lost last night? We don't have enough good players. It's impossible to change that without a coach.

You need to lay off the pipe at this point. Manuel is retaining PP. To say he has nothing to do with it is insane.
