Again from Dez blog

Manuel is expecting a gold medal for the womens basketball team – who isn’t – but he also expects to work on football scheduling for the years 2014-17 when he returns, all this year he plans to get those schedules done he said.

He said there have been preliminary discussions with some schools but he didn’t offer any for fear of breaking any potential deals – for any number of reasons – before they’re made.

Gotta keep the hand of cards close to the chest. I think he'll come up with a quality schedule. He has the experience of a powerhouse football program.

I would actually like to see an ooc series set up w/ West V. The history would DEFINATELY add some excitement to season. Would b good for us to keep ties in play IMO.

I would love to play at least one of WVU and Pitt every year. As much as I hate Cuse from basketball, I never really got excited over playing them in football. Always loved playing Pitt and WVU though.

Having OOC games that people care about would do wonders for ticket sales, both season tix and individual game sales. When you have 6 home games and 3 are yawn inducing OOC games of course no one will buy season tickets.

I don't think WV will play us in football in the future. They have 9 conference games and rivalries with Maryland, Pitt, VT, East Carolina, and Syracuse and get forced to play Marshall. They don't consider UConn a football rival. Plus, they probably need to play games in Florida for recruiting.

Not interested in frequent FB games against the old BE except for BC. I have no problem scheduling Pitt, Cuse and especially WVU as convenient for both sides but, I would rather strengthen the OOC schedule.

Winning BE conference games won't carry the weight they used to carry for at least the next 4 years. Assume 4 BE wins and schedule 2-3 AQ OOC games and 1-2 non-AQ.

It's time to play better teams to elevate the program. Don't need to play BAMA, just replace WMU and UB with a Wake Forest or an Kansas.

I have no idea what this comment means, but I am quite sure that the less informed Houston and SMU fans are looking at future games with UCONN as an automatic win. Heck, Temple fans have reason to feel confident against us.

I think we're more likely to be looing towards the B10 or whatever that B12 is called now. But picking a fight with the ACC ain't a terrible idea either.

I was inartfully trying to say that it is time to add an extra BCS game, now that our perceived SOS is diluted by the NNBE.

Eyeball wins are now as important as ever. No one will care that we go 5-3 in the NNBE.

2015 @ Snookie - 2018 @ Kansas. We need a few of these... Hope Warde gets back to work soon on the schedule. We need some good news on that front.

. Right now, all we have on the docket is:

2014: NOTHING
2015: Tennessee
2016: @Tennessee (ROAD TRIP!), UVA
2017: @UVA

What I expect:
Home/home with UMass long-term (somewhat ugh, but they are a historical rival, and play "home" in Foxboro)
Some type of series announcements with defectors.
A stupid 2:1 with a semi-big-shot.

What I hope for:
A house-clearing at BCU, and an announced home/home (looking more likely every year, though part of me wants the current regime to continue to suck)
Home/home with Penn St
Home/home with Army (I'll admit it, I love going to West Point, and they could fill a spot that's now reserved for MAC teams, which we now have UMass for)
