"National Academy of Sciences study says men and and women with the highest levels of optimism had an 11% to 15% longer life span than those who tended to be negative. Optimists also had the greatest odds of living to age 85 or beyond."

Just sayin'!

I'd rather live in reality for 70 years than be delusional for 77.

causation=/=correlation

Crap Whaler and Jimmy have a month or so left then LOL just kidding guys

I love to see things half full and not the other way.
My thought on the season is wait and see approach

Not that scientists would ever fudge the numbers.

Lol, perfect... just perfect..

Folks are free to be an optimist, just acknowledge that it’s based on hopes and dreams and wishes and things. It’s not connected to reality.

Reality is, we have stunk on ice for a decade.

It’s easy to confuse being terrible as pessimism, but they aren’t the same thing.

I hope we suck marginally less this year.

We've actually sucked for 5 years. We were ok and had players for a while. Beat a ranked Houston with Dicko somehow.

If this is true, then the entirety of the Boneyard Football fanbase might live forever...

That's a pretty pessimistic take.

Not placing expectations, hope, etc, on other human beings is what makes life easier. Being emotionally detached from the ego with an inclination towards a scientific spiritual approach (psychology, sociology, etc) makes life easier.

Bluntly put, not worshiping humans or their creations makes life easier. Otherwise, we'll live a life of frustration and other negative emotions. Exhibit A....

Easier said than done. I am still here myself. (My spiritual teacher, on the other hand, is now 85 and has better health than me! Crazy as it sounds, he used to be a football fan.)

I come to the football board because of the danger.

The excitement of a death wish.

Like smoking cigarettes except there’s no buzz and I do not look cool doing it.
So exactly like smoking cigarettes except there’s no buzz.
