I fear for our fine "Carolina" colleague if the battle of evils-Demon Deacons vs. Blue Devils has lowly WF prevail. We already lost two of most esteemed colleagues this year due to ND stinking it up-I can't lose another favorite... ;)
 
6pm on a thursday is an awful time for this game. This battle between the Baptists and the Methodists should always be scheduled for Sunday Afternoons.... instead of on a Thursday evening. 2pm on Sunday afternoon.... with a buffet consisting of fried chicken, potato salad, deviled eggs, biscuits, and either a sheet cake from Walmart or sweet potato pie in the concourse after the game.
 
My arteries are hardening as I read this! Just to be safe, I am going to take another atorvastatin pill from my prescription. ;)
As I said, I am going to keep my fingers crossed for my "bag over his head" colleague on this game. This game could be dubbed "Which coach is gone first from their school" game....
 
I like Duke's chances in this one. Lambert and Gorecki are gonna dominate.

Guilty, Duke won't lose to Wake Forest (even without Odom) but I figured you would enjoy the win more if there were doubters.
 
Wake had a nice Christmas tournament in which they beat:
Dayton 78-59
Florida 73-68

and in their first ACC matchup, they were edged out by Miami 59-56 at Miami.

Is Duke playing better than Miami?

Maybe we can start calling them Woke Forest after tonight. ;)
 
One of my favorite moments during the Duke-FGCU game was when one of the announcers inadvertently called them the "Buke Doo Devils". I can't get that phrase out of my mind :D
 
Wow, that's an early timeout by Hoover. Is she afraid of being fired mid-game?

Duke leads 6-2 on 3s by Lambert and Goodchild.
 
Mikayla Boykin got in the game in the second half. It's her first action since tearing her ACL a year ago. I'm really rooting for her and Lambert. They've had such a rough time with the injuries.
 
Wake Forest takes their first lead since the opening minutes, 34-32 early in 3Q. JPM calls timeout.

Duke is a frigid 2-15 from 3. Duke has the edge on turnovers and rebounds, but failing to capitalize due to cold shooting (27%).

It's a tense and exciting battle between 7-5 teams. Okay, maybe just tense.

Gorecki is 0-9 from 3. She needs to find her shot fast, or just let someone else shoot.
 
So much for not needing Odom...Has anyone checked on Triad recently?
 
We are in ACC Bizarro world WF 51 Duke 47 and Pitt 18-20 vs ND
