I watched the game yesterday via the Fox sports app so I don’t know if the commercials that aired on SNY are entirely the same as what I viewed.
The BE conference ran, at least twice, an ad promoting the upcoming tournament at Mohegan Sun. I understand that politically the BE has to treat all teams equally. I also understand that for marketing purposes they have to make the tournament sound exciting and a must see event.
So why in heavens name do they air a commercial that shows scene after scene of games with massive numbers of empty seats? Seems to be counterproductive to the message they’re promoting.
And a reminder note that I still have a single ticket available for the play-in games on Friday. Yes, UConn is not playing and the BE promotion not withstanding, this probably won’t be compelling basketball. Still, it’s something to do and attendance helps support the sport, and you can’t beat the price - I’m happy to give the ticket away.
