All the best....sitting out a year to play at New Mexico in Mtn West Conf....makes perfect sense.

He did say he hated the winter weather in CT so on that level it makes sense ....otherwise I'm perplexed.

I'd say it's gonna be the pits for him there, but the school finally sold out and got a corporate name for the arena.

I don't have a problem holding the staff to the fire for Durham, Enoch, and MAL.

Vance...he's the type of kid you could describe to a group of coaches as one of those guys and they would all nod their heads in understanding.
I honestly don't begrudge him one bit. But there's not a whole lot you can do from a coaching standpoint.

There's not an awful lot you can do about a kid who apparently thinks he can play the 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 and presents a "nightmare matchup" at all five. That's how you end up at New Mexico, I suppose.

He's got a ton of potential and losing him is a killer, but it is what it is.

He only has potential if he wants to do the dirty work. If he needs everything to revolve around him, then he has no potential.

What a weird situation. I think Vance and Ollie are the only ones who actually know why he left and why he'd rather be at New Mexico.

Don't think I saw this mentioned but Vance benefited greatly from Larrier getting injured as well as Gilbert. If both those guys played this past season Vance wouldn't have gotten anywhere near the same amount of playing time. I'm sure those two coming back especially Larrier played a major role in his decision to transfer. Larrier is clearly the better player and they play the same position.

I don't generally like to jump to conclusions about kids but he gave off that vibe well before he set foot on campus so none of this is particularly surprising.

That being said, New Mexico? Yikes.

I'm not shocked. My guess is that he wants to be "the man". Well, he'll certainly be the man there. I don't wish him any ill will, though. Good luck, Vance...

The translation is, "I chose the place that said I would be the man". That's what he wanted and that landed him at a lower level school.

New Mexico? So damn weird. I need this twilight zone that the program is in to end.
