>>On Saturday while his older son led his team to victory over his alma mater, John Shirreffs followed the action from afar.

Shirreffs’ son, Bryant, is the starting quarterback at Connecticut, a 13-10 winner over Virginia in Storrs, Connecticut. However, John and Bryant’s mom, Lisa, were in Boone, North Carolina.

A younger Shirreffs son, Evan, is a redshirt freshman quarterback at Miami, which won 45-10 at Appalachian State on Saturday.<<

In case anyone else wondered, the younger Shirreffs QB for Miami did not get in the game.
