So strange. No recruiting base. Little tradition. Cold weather team. No way they should win. Sound familiar? The formula

1. Great coach
2. JUCO/portal
3. Facilities
4. Fan base - the states most supported team
5 Aligned leadership and support from Governor on down

It can be done folks. Let’s hope we’re emerging from our ten years in the desert Have a great weekend y’all

Interesting state. Fantastic scenery. Mormons. Yet, I hear Utah and first association is, of course,

Love the sentiment, but moving up to the P12 helped a great deal too.

Looks like half to two thirds of their roster is made up of players from Utah, Texas and California.

Can we get Johnny Utah through the transfer portal!? The way he played in that Rose Bowl, really reminded me of pro QB Shane Falco.

Using that logic Rutgers would be good. Anyway. I think it can inform our roadmap.
Utah State has also become relevant in the last 5-6 years. They had been a perennial doormat.

They are in that conference as a result of being great while in the WAC and MWC. They made a couple great coaching hires, and all of a sudden they're in the national picture.

It can be done. 12 years ago, they were at the same disadvantaged place we're in now.

Utah has been prominent since Urban Meyer and maybe before. Utah pounded Pitt with Alex Smith in like 2005.

Remember when they beat up on Alabama in a BCS bowl?

They also solidified their gains by joining the PAC 12.

They aren’t a good comparison with us. But yeah they are a real football team.

Utah is not a team I regularly follow, but last night was such an impressive performance. Their body language from the outset showed their excitement and passion...and the exact opposite for Oregon. I loved the sideline enthusiasm all game, and the fact that they never let off the gas pedal until the game was over. Total domination in every aspect of the game. And that offensive line...just owned the Ducks. Beasts

The state's most supported team? I wouldn't say that in Provo. Also, U of U has been a solid team for quite a while. I think they also recruit a lot of Polynesian players.

Polynesian > Canadian imo for football only, I am not aware of any Polynesians who have score over 100 points in a high school basketball game

Was that when they went up 21-0 after 1 quarter and won 31-17?

and guess what ... why are the Polynesians in Utah? How big is the Eastern Ontario through Quebec demographic? And what is the growing sport in those provinces.

This thing you are passing amongst yourself is stupid. Ok let's just let UBuffalo bring in 5 kids a year. But wait ... who had a lot of Canadians on their last roster? hmmmm - University of Maine

At first blush, maybe the top state in the country for big time college football. Utah 10-3, PAC-12 Champions, Utah State 10-3, Mountain West Champions, BYU 10-2, Independent, awaiting bowl game announcement.
