Today's outcome notwithstanding I'n feeling okay about the team. There are pieces to build around. Mensah and Skanes looked very solid today.

Because if you don’t get it it’s three scores and goodbye momentum and pressure.

They were just doing it there to make the score closer not under the guise it was a game.

Which I would never do because I don’t want to put 2 pt conversions on tape in meaningless spots.

I was the only one in my section yelling, "why are we going for 2 now?" (There were only like 10 of us anyways).

The only rationale I could supply was that Edsall wanted to know if we'd get it right away in order to prepare for the need for a field goal in a 2 TD + 1 FG = 17 scenario. That's not a good rationale at all, but its the only one I could provide at the time.

You have to kick the extra point and make it a two score game, no matter how unlikely that is...

Most teams convert about 40% or slightly more on 2-pt conversions. Based on HCRE’s NFL background he probably uses the Two-Point Conversion Chart. I’m not sure what UConn’s success rate is, but I’m assuming Edsall felt it fell within the range to go for two at -17 with 6:24 to play.

Speaking of Skanes, he also had two catches giving him 30 this season. That is a program record for freshman as Kashif Moore had 27 receptions in 2008. With Keyion Dixon now at 20 receptions, it marks the first time since 2002 that more than one UConn freshman has 20 catches. Terry Caulley, Jason Williams and Brandon Young all topped the 20-catch plateau that season.<<
