That made me lol. I also think it was a jab at our recruiting losses this season -- basically teams are over-promising.

UCLA over promised last year. Maybe U$C too but not sure but my rumour mongers say that’s why their general manager was replaced after her first year

Makeer's team won the three point shooting contest tonight so maybe she is gonna make me eat my words and shoot great this year.

Saw a tweet suggesting she made her first ten and 20/25, wonder if that's true?

Appears WBB/MBB finally figured out how to do this season opening event. Looks like they took a page out of All Star weekend. I went to these events in the past and they were usually unfocused, meandering and felt improvised. I didn't attend but I'll probably do next year's.

Isn’t that funny? I’m not sure that’s ever happened. Also shocked that Joyce didn’t get a single vote. I’m expecting her to contend for conference POY.

I never saw evidence that Lola Lampley visited on the 16th as was reported to be scheduled.

But it does look like Jerzy will at least visit this weekend which is nice I suppose.

wasn't Joyce First team SEC? Sort of bizarre all around.

Joyce is going to have plenty of opportunity to qualify for the season end team with Kitts out.

Saw some tweeting that had her way up there on efficiency rating national as a true freshman. Strong's monster season kind of eclipsed her, but Joyce had a great debut.

She canceled her TN and SC visits. Announcing next Friday it appears

Jerzy was originally scheduled to come with Vukosa but Vukosa knew for sure where she wanted to go.

Makeer is a fantastic three point shooter, so it's highly plausible. I've already gone on the record to say that I think she'll be a "3 and D" type of player as a freshman. It's the other aspects of her offense that I think will suffer as she gets acclimated to the physicality in the SEC.

So folks, what do y’all say?

Should we close this thread in the next few days and open a “ Gamecocks 2025-2026 Season” thread or do we wait until after the UNC scrimmage when the season really starts?

First exhibition is Friday so that is a good starting point to me.

USC is starting a new tradition called Garnet and Black Madness as a precursor to the season. It basically followed the same formula as the WNBA All-Star weekend, so they had a men's and women's 3 point contest and skills challenge and the men had a dunking content. It ended with a concert.

Here is a fan recording of some of the events. Unfortunately, they didn't capture the entirety of the 3 point contest:

 
Our first exhibition game against Anderson is being played tonight at 7 pm. There is no TV or radio, so you'll have to be there in person to watch. The above YouTuber, Aisha Travels, has been known to record parts of the games and upload to her channel, so I am crossing my fingers she will be at the exhibition game.

I wonder if gamecocks on line will have live stats?

My biggest question is :!what chemistry will Raven and Okot have this season? Stats won’t really answer this question. Chemistry is something that requires an eyeball test and I won’t be there to see their interplay
