Well that's different. They usually name a 10 person team. Not divide it into 1st and 2nd teams. Pretty similar to AP's top 2 teams.

You’re thinking of the WBCA team. That is just 10 players. Announcement coming tomorrow. I hope Pheesa gets recognized on it along with Gabby & Lou.

I too thought the USBWA team consisted of 10 players in the past. In fact, it did:

USBWA > News > 2016-17 Women's All-America Team

Yes, lots of overlap with the AP list. The writers have Mitchell instead of Vivians on the first team. They include Canada on the second team. She’s was 13th on the AP list and no worse than tied for for 10th on the writers’ list.
