OT: - USA WINS HOCKEY GOLD | The Boneyard

OT: USA WINS HOCKEY GOLD

That was amazing. USA v. Canada hockey is the best rivalry going in sports.

Help me here. I am not knowledgable about hockey. I found watching this game
exciting and the play by both teams...and goalies...great fun.

I had NO idea about that rule change in the OT. I thought it made that time more
tense...more pressure-filled. Even to unknowledgable me it sure seemed much easier to score a goal...and I liked
that.

Do you like it? I would guess purists would not. That true? For me: I would NOT like it if in other
sports when extra innings or OT occured they removed some players from each team.

Canadian team was devastated. USA hockey as a program has come a long way in the last 20-30 years.
There are probably a half dozen Canadian players who should've had goals or assists today but will end up having nightmares. McDavid is certainly one of them.

That goalie stood on his head. Some of the saves he made were impossible.

I was mostly interested in watching a great game - given how the Canadians had to come back a couple times just to make it here, I thought there was a chance it would be a boring 5-1 game with the US coasting. It was anything but, thankfully.

This wasn't the 1980 CCCP team, so couldn't really manufacture fake "hate" against the Canucks like it seems at least 2-3 here could. If anything, I wanted to see Tage get a gold medal. I will say the Canadians missed having Sid out there. Sully was good here in Pgh for a few years until he wasn't, so good to see he can still coach a winner.
