Wait, Tina too? That's six out of five!!Fowles over Tina Charles is a joke. As I posted back in December:
The events are the 2010, 2014 and 2018 World Cups and the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. Fowles is the leading vote-getter even though she hardly played in the 2012 Olympics and missed the 2014 and 2018 World Cups. Tina Charles played in all 5 events and started a combined 32 games. She was often USA's best player and certainly USA Basketball's best post player for the decade.
Agree EDD selection is bogus. They just can’t announce an All-UConn all-decade team, although in reality that would be the real team. (Would be bad for WBB.)Might as well mention that EDD played in 2 of the 5 events during the decade, never started a game was not close to being Team USA's best player. Stewie played in 3 of 5 events and was the 2018 World Cup's MOP. Why not just have a poll for the most popular USA Basketball players of the decade. Then the results would make more sense.
Brittney Griner was more relevant then Fowler. She completely took away the inside for any other teams.Agree EDD selection is bogus. They just can’t announce an All-UConn all-decade team, although in reality that would be the real team. (Would be bad for WBB.)
This is not about the greatest WNBA players of the decade, it's The National USA team for the decade. Olympics and the World Championship teams.EDD is one of the greatest players in WNBA history. Take a look at the stats, including the advanced stats. Had Fowler not gone to Minnesota she would have won championships in Chicago. Might have won there anyway had they not had idiot Pokey Chapman coaching. She does everything well.
My Bad baggerbob! You are right. EDD should not have even been considered due to so few games played for the National Team. Switch Tina Charles for EDD and the Team would be complete and correct. Actually, Tina should have been a no brainer as she played more games, minutes than anyone and had great stats. This is not about the greatest WNBA players of the decade, it's The National USA team for the decade. Olympics and the World Championship teams.
