I'm not drinking any adult beverages until we get them.

My spring weight was 200....but I went on a cruise this summer and my fall weight is more in the 210 range. I have definitely lost a step on my trips to the fridge. But I am hoping the additional weight means I won't be pushed around as easily at the buffet.

You might be dry until March, unless you bring a scale to Tuesday's open practice. P treats weight like a national security issue.

Have you ...

There are 2013 Media Guides downloadable on the uconnhuskies.com site.

That, I believe, is where we are ... reporting as of the Media Days.

OK a couple observations:

1. All of the freshmen OLine are BIG DUDES: Not many OLinemen under that 6'4, 300lb mark.

2. Junior Joseph must be a freaking tank: 6'1, 247 MLB. That is HUUGE for a true Frosh.

3. EJ Norris didn't put a ton of weight on. I was hoping he'd come back in the 250-260 range and he's at 238.

4. Nice Mix of Freshmen DE's : 2 developmental athletes(stapleton 214/stevens 216) and two burly bigger guys to pay strongside (ormsby 238/ Holiness 256)

5. Staff clearly trying to get bigger athletes at CB(marder, Williams, Lucas, Jones, Hadley) all 5'11 or taller.

6. Our incoming Frosh QBs are bigger than our incoming Frosh DE. LOL.

Another surprise addition (unless I totally zoned out and missed it before) - Sir-Tay Jackson 5-8 190lb Frosh DB from New Rochelle to Bridgeton Academy (?PG) to D2 (Alderson-Broaddus) in VA. Looks like he was a 2011 commit of Sacred Heart University.

At the alumni association event on Tuesday, one of the folks in the audience asked P about it- said that McCummings looked like he had put on a bit of weight at the spring game (cue muffled laughter)... I've forgotten the exact quote, but P said something along the lines that they won't be having any heavy QBs and he'd need to get a look last night/today.

That and the comment that the wildcat wasn't particularly emphasized in the spring...

No fat QB's to be exact. And Cochran at 6"1 226? Lagow and Boyle have protytpical measurements.

I hope to god we go back to some power running with the big uglies coming in as big as they have. I don't really understand what the duckk zone blocking is, all I know is that for the last two seasons we've run like and it seems like ages ago since the last time we had an OLman taking on a LB on a running play.

Your future left tackle might be the walk-on QB Sallquist. 6-5 249 for a frosh quarterback? He may be heavier than Hemingway next year. If they put him on a lineman's weight program he'd be 300 before his redshirt SO year.

If you move him to OL, then you have the problem of finding a replacement at the Starting TE spot.... He's already bigger than all of our TE's!
