No matter what her final # ends up being, I still say Diamonds are Forever at UCONN, and the Diamond is the queen of all gems!

Well, I think Mercedes would be quite a gem too and wished UConn were recruiting her!

Maybe she is a sapphire? I really like sapphires.

Perhaps if her name was Bugatti, Ferrari or Lamborghini, Geno might like her better .... :cool:

We have KML. If we can get a player with the initials of BMW, she should be able to take the ball to the basket very well--the "ultimate driving machine."

The old overall ranks are still showing.

Mercedes, Kaela, and Diamond are all rated 97. Ranking them may be like splitting hairs.

True - they're all fantastic, and as part of the HG writeup said, these three are in a class by themselves at the top.

::::falling into a daydream::::

"Welcome back everybody. We're in the first half of your 2014 Women's National Championship, with UCONN starting to establish firm control of the game. Rebecca, who is Geno putting on the floor coming out of this time-out?"
"Well, Bob, it looks like UCONN is going with sophomore Mo Jefferson a the point while Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis will remain on the floor at shooting guard. No surprise there. The fabulous freshman Diamond DeShields is set to check in at one forward spot, and inside it looks like Geno will stick with the familiar tandem of Breanna Stewart and Stefanie Dolson."
"Rebecca, it just doesn't seem fair. This team is absolutely loaded at every single position. Several of these players are returning All-Americans and it's conceivable that all 5 could actually reach All-American status at one level or another once this post season is over."
"It's pretty much a modern-day Murderer's Row, isn't it Bob? Good luck to their opponent."
"And now back to the action!"

Bria Hartley would definitely start in 2014! She'll be a senior! Definitely not a bad thing to have. ;)

I can see it being..

Jefferson/Hartley/Lewis/Stewert/Dolson. I wouldn't count out Stokes though. I think she can be very good, and with so much offensive punch, Stokes and her defensive prowness could easily fit in.

Well Dreaming is fun but that lineup is a nitemare for opposing teams. Almost unfair. One thing Geno continues to do is take UConn WCBB to another level. I remember back when TASS won it all and many coaches said Geno had set the bar so high it would be very difficult for anybody to reach. Well Geno continues to reach levels that continually surprise everybody.

well, we all know some superstar recruits never reach their potential and some less heralded players become great cogs in the machine of the team. for every EDD their is a kalana green. for every smarie walker there is a carla berube.
superstar line ups are often just all star games. interesting displays of talent, but soon forgoton. what one needs is not just the talent, but the right mix of players that can produce a NC. no one has done that mixing better than geno in the "modern" era.
