With the conferences 2/3rds or 75% complete, I did a recap of the P4 plus BE player awards. I used my usual game score, Her Hoop Stats Win Shares and then the various conference weekly press releases to see who was winning the awards and who was the closest competitor in the various race
Big East
POY Sarah Strong WS 6.7 (second is Azzi Fudd-WS 5.1)
FOY Blanca Quinonez WS 2.3 (no one really close)
ACC
POY Hannah Hidalgo WS 5.5 (by far and away over everyone with Kamil Pierre 2nd WS 3.2)
FOY Uche Izoje-Syracuse WS 3.2 and who has won the FOW 5 times (no one really close)
Big 12
POY Audi Crooks WS 4.7 in a close race with Olivia Miles WS 6.0
FOY Jaliya Davis Kansas WS 2.6 (#19 HG rank, who has won the FOW 5 times with no one else close)
Big 10
POY Lauren Betts WS 4.2 in what should be a close race with Jaloni Cambridge WS 4.6 but it won't be
FOY Jazzy Davidson WS 3.1 (5 times FOW interestingly enough Cearah Parchment WS 3.3 from Illinois has won FOW 3 times
SEC
POY Mikayla Blakes WS 6.0 who has overtaken Madison Booker WS 5.5
FOY Aubrey Galvan WS 3.3 (NR by HG) who is leading the Vandy team to a surprise season over the more heralded Aaliyah Chavez WS 2.9 (whose OU team has underachieved). This site was TEDIOUS to try and count the FOW so I gave up after 22 pages and only Jan 20 data and leaned on latest news, Efficiency score and WS.

Normally I would also add in the pre-season predictions but as just stated, the conference news feeds are very tedious to search so I am not including them.

Thoughts?

SEC will be very close for both awards. Wonder when the last time players from the same team received both awards.

Jan 25th game was a nightmare for Vandy . . . With no Booker and an off night for Galvan.

On the other hand...

Sooners beat Dawn's team with Chavez leadership..... 15 points scored in the OT was special against a top two team

Still think Cambridge may give Betts a run for her money. Cambridge at 25.8 ppg in BIG play versus Betts at 17.9 ppg is a big gap. If OSU were to finish strong and finish 2nd, Cambridge might still win or share the award. Also think that some of the Midwest BIG media voters look for reasons not to vote for players from far-flung newcomer schools. A Maryland player has never won WBB BIG POY.
