He agreed to a contract buyout with Milwaukee and could be headed to a contender.

Oklahoma City and Miami have emerged as frontrunners to sign Caron Butler, with Chicago and San Antonio in pursuit too, sources tell Yahoo.

I would say 90% he heads back home where his career started. The thing is Butler still has a ton of juice, he really could put an OKC over the top. I would guess he's sought after more than Granger

OKC and Miami already have UConn guys, so I hope it's one of the other contenders. Spread out the Huskies to give them the best shot at getting a ring.

Putting him on Miami would be giving him the best shot at a ring I think, although I understand your point.

Lamb's minutes had already gone downhill since Westbrook's return, with Brook's preference to rely on veterans I'd imagine he'll probably see little time now.

Well, at least now, when we play in Tulsa next year, Caron can join KD & J Lamb behind the UConn bench.

He can start butler, bring thabo /Reggie/ lambo off the bench. Okc has all the goods to win it all , still not sure i trust Scott brooks rotations. Very stubborn guy

Thabo has been starting ever since he got to OKC, he's not going to start coming off the bench now. Not sure why Lamb's minutes have been just tossed aside, its not like he wasn't playing 20 minutes when Westbrook was there for that 20+ game stretch. I understand Fisher has been playing better for the past 2 months but I don't get developing a guy for 4 months of the season, then all of a sudden you just stop playing him the way Brooks has done with Lamb after the AS break. I know its only 3 games, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is how it goes now with the rest of the season.

Fisher was washed up 3 years ago and the fact that he is getting burn is a joke. He has been playing OK recently and has gotten his PER up to 10. What a joke. I'm a huge Lamb fan, huge KD fan but I am frequently disgusted watching Thunder games.

I think Caron will steal Lamb's minutes totally which is depressing.

Having a Veteran Uconn/ NBA guy on the team may actually help Thabeet and
Lamb ( tough juice). Plus , I think people maybe forgetting that Caron has a NBA championship ring already .

With Perkins out, there is more room in the front court. I can see Durant & Butler playing together at forward.... With Ibaka getting more minutes at center. Caron will most likely come off the bench though. I don't see him affecting Lamb's minutes directly.

good for Caron, hate to see UConn guys late in their careers on crappy teams.

Lamb plays a ton of minutes at SF for OKC with Brooks preference to rely on a 2 PG backcourt once he gets past the starting lineup. When Westbrook was healthy the majority of Lamb's minutes were spent at SF alongside Jackson and Fish. With Caron introduced into the equation, that's one more person to compete with and Brooks will usually side with the veteran player. If Caron plays well then that's great because it will be nice to see him contributing on a contender in the twilight of his career after the injury caused him to miss his chance with the Dallas title squad, it just sucks to know that Lamb's time will probably be cut to token minutes and his development delayed even further when he has played well this season.

Wow I thought for sure he was going to Miami, it had to come down to playing time. Looks like Caron will be playing the Kevin Martin role from last season. Watch out for the Clippers seeing they signed Granger and Big Baby.

Anyone know if RIP Hamilton is getting any real looks from contending teams, or is he completely out of the NBA picture?

I think RIP is done, he couldn't contribute consistently for Chicago due to injuries so unlikely a contender takes a chance on him.

Caron definitely will take burn from Lamb. Much better defender and Caron can hit the open corner 3 just as well as Lamb. Its up to Jeremy to defend better to protect his minutes or take some from Fischer.

Miami seems like they are done. They will certainly contend for the East (6 or 7 game series with Pacers) and could still win the championship if Wade is completely healthy, but they've missed out on quite a few signings now and it seems more and more likely that this is the last year of LeBron, Wade and Bosh. Bummer for Ray as that could mean his career ends this season as well.

But the heat have Lebron, who is on a path of destruction and Dwade has looked healthy. I want the Heat to lose too but I will not say they are done. The second someone says their done is the second they go on a tear it happens all the time its like they do it on purpose every year.

Good for Caron. Lamb has many NBA years left, and if he can get a 'ship' in his early years his future is set. I'm not concerned about Jeremy whatsoever he is in their future plans.

Based on what? I'm amazed at people crowning a team in Indiana that has yet to ever win anything all while being ready to bury a team that wins more big games than anyone and hasn't even really rolled it's full lineup out there consistently. As for Caron, it's great that he gets to play on a good team now as opposed to that mess in Milwaukee.
