Another thread for the lonely off season.

What do you think the highest # is that UConn reaches on the polls this year (AP)?

What is the lowest (let’s say 40 is the lowest in others receiving votes, so anything below that is Not Ranked)?

Final regular season (after BET) ranking?

My guesses:

9

29

13

Seems like a ridiculously tight range but that's pretty much where this program has been for the last 2 years.

.-.
Realistically, we need a 3 seed or better to win a national championship.

I thought this was the age-old thread of let’s go thru the schedule and count W/L’s.

I’ll hold out my prediction until then.

I don’t know about this ranking stuff but I think we go 22-9 (13-7).

.-.
That would be a disappointment.
It would but best case scenario we go 24-7. We will lose once to Nova, Xavier, and probably Marquette and Seton Hall. Most likely we get swept by Creighton and lose two in OOC play.

OP response.. Sweet Sixteen as a floor..And roll the dice on brackets from there.. Don't care about rankings

It's time to do it.. We've got the talent

Percentage odds and matchups. 4/13 matchup is far trickier than 3/14. The vast majority of champs are seeded 1-3.
There's only been 2 NCAA champions ranked 3 or lower since 2007

UConn in 2014 and UConn in 2011 :)

Yeah I get the percentages, it just seems weird to say that we "need" something that is directly refuted by our last two national championships.

Not that I think they're going to win a national championship, but there is an increasing level of parity and competition for seeds that is making the number next to your name increasingly less relevant. Look at last season. Carolina lost in the finals as an 8.

We were a 3 seed in 2011. Carolina lost. Only four times has a team seeded 4 or worse won the whole thing.

20 posts and no one has thrown in the Clubber Lang pain gif.

This place is slipping.

I honestly don’t care enough to debate this but Carolina lost in the final because they were an 8 seed? Or they made it notwithstanding their 8 seed? I just don’t like these arbitrary absolutes because I think they’re silly.
