This was a show that was on networks from 1988 to 2007, starring the deep throat actor Robert Stack. It was a great show other than the frustration of not solving most mysteries. They are still looking for Amelia Earhart's plane for example.
UConn women's basketball has its own unsolved mystery. What ever happened to Morgan Celli?
Where injuries at UConn are secrets that are treated like the nuclear codes. Never answering questions about the status of player almost becomes callous.
In this era of transfer portals, it seems that players are just replaceable.
Morgan in her 24 games showed a lot of promise. I hope she comes back healthy and better.
An update on her status is not a lot to ask about.

While I would like to know more about Morgan’s status, keep in mind that she has a legal right to privacy under HIPAA. That right limits what Geno and the University can disclose without Morgan’s “informed consent.”

Whether and how much about a player's injury to make public is up to the player. That's the law, it's not UConn policy.

We know she had ankle surgery a year or so ago. I don't remember there being further surgery, but my memory is fallible. In early January Geno said Morgan was making progress and he didn't know when to expect her back. By mid-February it's not worth it to her or the program to bring her back and punt a redshirt year for a month or so of playing at likely reduced effectiveness.

Pretty sure we did get an 'out for the year' update around the end of December. Not sure of the exact injury but it is ankle/foot and I think didn't recover the way they thought it would hence the longer layoff.

And yeah, professional leagues I think probably have a standard clause in their player and coaching contracts that waive the some of the Hipaa protections so the gambling world gets more information to set odds and the opponents have some idea who is well enough to play. But amateur athletics and specifically academic institutions have to respect individual privacy and not bend down to the gamblers.

You missed my point. I am not asking about any medical specifics.

A) Will she ever play basketball again?
B) Is her condition improving?
C) Will she be able to play in the Fall?

Just pretending that she disappeared like Amelia, seems cruel to me. just my opinion.

I haven’t heard any reporters ask Geno any such questions in months, and if they did, what exactly would he say? “I don’t know.” or some vague answer that isn’t going to satisfy anyone.

She doesn’t warm up with the team. Presumably, she’s involved in physical therapy and various exercises to rehab her ankle. Beyond that, I don’t know that anyone knows if or when she’ll be back. She may have a chronic problem that will never permit her to get back on the court.

We’ve been through similar situations with both Caroline & Ayanna. Perhaps we have the same situation with Morgan and Ice. As much as we all want a definitive answer, the human body heals at its own pace, or doesn’t. I’m just happy that UConn has sufficient depth that neither Morgan or Ice’s absences are irreplaceable.
