Methinks the W needs to start taking the CBA discussions seriously. And good for Unrivaled to give players a league to play in without going overseas.

Some comments from Gabby Williams - “Especially being in the CBA meeting yesterday, it’s very clear that the league wants to push away all other leagues without still paying us more than those other leagues pay us,” Seattle Storm forward Gabby Williams told the media Friday.

“It would make sense if they were paying us more here but it still isn't the case, even with the new proposal. And it’s very clear now that they want to push Unrivaled out, push [Athletes Unlimited] out…so I think now more than ever it’s important to push against these kinds of issues.”

With the W as hot as it has ever been in terms of current viewership, TV deals, current talent and incoming talent, the League has to figure out a workable economic model for all parties involved. In terms of Unrivaled and Athletes Unlimited, the League has to figure that those leagues are a plus in helping a lot of players 1). to stay in the states rather than going overseas. 2). helps those players expand their brands as well as the W's and will boost the growth here in the states. We will see what develops over the next few weeks or months. Hopefully they don't drag this on until October.

Before Unrivaled started I was really looking forward to 3x3. However, after watching a few games, not so much anymore. I think the quick shot clock forces sloppy play and bad shooting. I like pretty basketball and this isn't it. Would a longer shot clock help?

Wow, and just not a few ‘others’. Those are the top of the top players who will be coming out of the collegiate ranks over the next few years!

I just see it (3X3) as a different type of game. Did you see how
much fun the "Owls" had playing together? The other reason
that I watched Unrivaled is because I want this new enterprise
to be a success as a means of "pushback" against the NBA and WNBA
establishment trying to control the sport and the lives and incomes
of the players.
