UConn is a stepping stone for HS recruits, and FR & SO portal players. It's a place where upperclassmen, who would otherwise be buried on a P4 roster, to get out from under, maximize their playing time, and hopefully catch the eye of an NFL scout. Until the status of UConn's conference affiliation changes, it's AAA baseball. It's a quality product and enjoyable enough around which to plan a full Autumn day with a bunch of friends, but for whom it counts, it's generally a means to the players' end.
