Undefeated teams

Neither. Alaska is massive, Washington has the most square miles by a landslide.

edit--the cutout of Alaska isn't remotely to scale; if you overlayed it over the Lower 48, it would cover almost as much space
now I see, says the blind man to his deaf daughter. Washington includes Alaska!!

I just checked to make sure I wasn't getting mixed up on the size of our northern state. Bigger than California, Texas and Montana combined!

Actually, kudos to Maryland. Obviously they dug their own hole in this game, but their execution (with Minnesota's cooperation) of their full court press at the end of the 2nd OT was textbook, in addition to clutch plays by Garzon and Saylor.
Also, keep in mind that this was an away game against a good team and Maryland just lost Smikle for the season (& probably needed a while to regroup).

Very happy for former UConn player Saylor Poffenbarger, who hit the winning shot for Maryland - a tough layup with about 10 seconds left - in the double OT win over Minnesota, giving her 30 points for the game.

Maryland was down 5 with 19 seconds to go in the first overtime, and by 9 with 44 seconds to go in the second overtime. Incredible.
Did poffenburger ever play for UConn??

Poffenbarger was a member of UConn’s recruiting class in 2020-21 along with Paige, Nika, Aaliyah, etc. She played mop up minutes in 12 games before transferring to Arkansas. She is currently in her 6th season of college basketball, now with MD.

Actually Saylor was a year behind those players but graduated high school early and enrolled at UConn in January 2021. A few other high school players did that as well, I think Olivia Miles was one, since the 2020-2021 Covid year did not (and does not) count against eligibility. It was basically a free year.

She came back to UConn in the fall of 2021 but elected to transfer to Arkansas in November 2021 before playing at all for UConn during that season. She sat out that season, played two seasons at Arkansas, and is now in her second season at Maryland.

It was a rocky start to her college career but I am happy that she has had success both at Arkansas and at Maryland.

Thankfully, after this season that whole Covid eligibility issue should be history (or maybe 99.9% history!).

The guy updates the map several times a week at the women's college basketball subreddit, r/NCAAW.
How come UConn, the AP number 1 in the nation, only gets that little speck of blue? Big deal they throw in Rhode Island and Cape Cod.

You know, I'm 91, fought in Korea, and and con-alt-del, cap loc, undo, num loc, print screen, refresh, airplane mode...etc, etc. is foreign to me.

I almost bought a color TV last week, my son said, don't it's only a fad. I wished my rabbit ears worked better.

I cannot load any app on my landline. Don't know why.

I walk into McDonald's, order my senior coffee, wait 2 minutes. MEANWHILE, folks walk in and pick up pre-made orders. What's an APP?
And satellites can track where your car is within 30 ft. from space.

She was quite the rebounder at Arkansas and I think she actually led the SEC at some point while she was there.

Saylor has found her home at Maryland for sure.

MD has Mir McLean too. Same class, right? That was an interesting freshman class at UConn. Seems like Saylor just wanted to park in the corner and shoot 3's at UConn. Kusos to her for becoming an all-round player. I always rooted for Mir. Did Geno see Gabby in her? 5'11 posts are tough at UConn. He never seemed to want her at the high post like Gabby. That player has to be able to hit that shot. (easiest shot in basketball? basically a free throw or an elbow jumper. I bet Azzi routinely hits a hundred in a row from there.)

I case anyone wonders how big Alaska is, here's an overlay map:

Correction, during Covid, Saylor enrolled early (like Olivia Miles did at ND) so she came in Jan 2021 and her first game was 1/31. She did get minimal minutes in the spring semester games. In the early fall, our first game was against Arkansas and Saylor did not get in the game. Both her and Mir McLean elected to transfer after the fall semester ended. Mir to UVA and Saylor to Arkansas. Both sat out the 2021-2022 season per the rules at that time. Mir had some injuries and is in her 6th year (graduated HS in 2026 with Paige). Saylor was HS class of 2021 with Azzi and Caroline. Both players transferred to MD at the beginning of last year.

Those who want to see the progression of the maps I posted can look here. This guy is the originator of them: https://www.reddit.com/user/neptunetheemystic/submitted/

The new map is interesting, particularly Alaska. It seems odd that Alaska would be that way when you think of a flat map projection, but of course it makes a lot more sense on a globe.
