Undefeated teams

Oregon, as unbeaten plays UCLA today, as well as mighty Washington at SoCal, and Maryland at a revitalized Minnesota. Of course there are undefeateds playing cupcakes too like Texas, LSU, Iowa State and UConn…
Feasting on cupcakes continues throughout WBB, although it’s worth pointing out that UConn’s cupcake is a BE game, while TX, LSU & Iowa St all chose to schedule the OOC cupcakes they’ll devour today.

Texas has played cupcakes for the month of December for as long as I can remember. It keeps the team home as they gear up for and go through finals. This year, the team plays Baylor next Sunday in Fort Worth. Finals conclude on Monday, the 15th. This is another money earning event. The Horns travel to SDSt on the 21st, during the school break. I hope today’s cupcake is light enough that our guards do not have to play 40 minutes each. Vic can either go big on the wing some or play former walk-on Sarah Graves and/or the freshman guard from Ireland, Grace Prenter. No word on the return of the three injured players.

I don’t necessarily count Vic and his Longhorns as gorging excessively on cupcakes, considering that he’s played and beaten SC, UCLA and NC during his early OOC schedule. As for Kim & LSU, that’s another story altogether.

Talking about Kim and her cupcakes, Massey had them jump over a hundred points in the SoS because they beat Duke. Is he going to drop them back down after the next 4 cupcake games of #351, #164, #355, #115? The highest rated team that they will play outside of Duke before conference play starts is UT Arlington who is currently rated #115.

We’ll see, and to your point, Duke has been a major disappointment this year.

Sorted by strength of schedule. LSU is at 55

I expect Washington to lose to USC tonight. Will Arizona St. have the entire western US on the map then?

Very happy for former UConn player Saylor Poffenbarger, who hit the winning shot for Maryland - a tough layup with about 10 seconds left - in the double OT win over Minnesota, giving her 30 points for the game.

Maryland was down 5 with 19 seconds to go in the first overtime, and by 9 with 44 seconds to go in the second overtime. Incredible.
