At first I thought this was a map of all the teams not named UConn. Then I saw the tiny little Husky. Obviously, quality has nothing to do with map size.

Can that be my Deacons at 9-0, the ACC's sole unbeaten?

I'm surprised Triad hasn't made an appearance here to congratulate me on Wake's start... yet, on that note, I fully expect reality to set in once the Deacs hit their ACC schedule starting next week.

That said, it's been a fun ride so far for a program that generally wallows in near obscurity, except nurturing the development of Jewel Spear a few years ago.

Well if Washington gets Alaska, they are dominating the country geographically!

I lived in AK for 5 years. Seattle major sports- Seahawks, Mariners were blacked out on TV there.
OK I think I'll go to a local Seattle game on a whim- 3500 miles away. Like driving from ME to FL for an early evening game.

The guy updates the map several times a week at the women's college basketball subreddit, r/NCAAW.

Looking at the size of the Husky emblem relative to U.S. counties, would it be possible for an exception to expand it just a wee bit to encompass all the continents since UConn is the "Basketball Capital of the World" .

Yeah, geography is a tough mistress. Given that we are sort of jammed into a corner of the map, there aren't many vectors to expand for the moment without hitting the radius of another undefeated.

UMass is one of those teams that is projected to have an extremely good record against a quite poor SoS. Even if we remain undefeated through December and Jan (not a given), they may still be looming up there, hogging our space. 🤣

Superstitious or not, I hate hearing that UConn is "In pusuit of perfection" and that the in season record is a top goal. While it would be great to be undefeated, Geno's #13 banner should be the primary goal.

The downward spiral of the ACC conference is very surprising to me.

There are several underlying issues facing the ACC'which can surely be expanded upon by those closer to it, but one of the main problems is that revenue distribution to its members is a lot less than the B1G and the SEC. Essentially, ACC programs can't compete financially against the other power conferences in coaching salaries, facilities, recruiting/retention of talent and overall program investment.
