Meh, it seems as though the acc schools are united for now, anything can happen, but I'll believe UNC to the 10 when I see it. UNC to the SEC? Well that's another story.

Football makes a lot more money. And it's not like UNC is going to a bad basketball conference...

UNC would be the southern most team in a pro dominantly northern and mid western conference. They're not leaving Dixie just yet

If this was RISK, you take CT to turn New England blue and you don't have to worry about attack from that corner - from there you have a solid foothold for world domination.

The northern border must be well-defended in case the Canadians attack!

I agree
The agument that Connecticut is small is untrue.
Its 3,500,000 plus in area smaller than Metro Phoenix.
Ky is slighly larger and has two BCS schools.
Nebraska is smaller.
Were not small we are COMPACT which gives us an advantage over states with much larger populations.

Its also easy to get to from the midwest and a short drive from a good many B1G alum alums
I think UConn is a no brainer. Why do we seem to have such an inferiority conplex?
I think UConn football with one great season will capture the hearts of its citizens.

If UConn makes the B1G. I will fly my family CT to see games annually.
or as long as I'm breathing
Not so for any other conference.
PS the PAC?? would be okay.
I live near Tempe.

I'm hearing some sweet news on Twitter! In the next play, the B1G will take Connecticut and Kamchatka...

Uconn really includes VT,ME,NH,RI and parts of western MA. We have a much larger footprint in New England than BC does. You can add parts of NY as well.

Isn't every one of these threads the same ? School X is moving and it's a done deal per impeccable source, herbst or wade or both are clueless and then there's an analogy about girlfriends or animals.

Must be a theme you just stumbled onto!!!

Does anyone know the UNC blog? I would like to see what their fans are thinking about this.

The best thing about all of this is that there should at least be a place for UCONN at somebody's table. Realistically it seems like the ACC is the weakest conference and the most likely to be poached. UNC, Ga Tech, UVA, possibly Va Tech and FSU? Haven't there also been rumors about Clemson?

But wouldn't that leave Pitt, Syracuse, NCState, Duke, BCU, Miami and Wake? Add in USF, UCONN, Cinci and you pretty much have the big east. For all the maneuvering, it seems like L'ville and WVU got the best deals out of any of the BE schools as the ACC will be even weaker after the poaching is done.

Will the other conferences get up to 16 schools each? That would mean 4 more for the Pac 12, and I don't know how many more needed for the SEC, Big 12 or Big 10 after the additions coming up. Point being, if each of them wanted to get up to 16, wouldn't that pretty much wipe out the ACC? the BE is already wiped out. Imagine of the other 4 super conferences decided to all go to 16 and UCONN was still left out in the cold. I dont' know the math and have a hard time imaging that could happen, but who the hell knows at this point?

Sad that our best hope is to end up in the weakest conference football wise. But I honestly don't care about college football, so would be psyched to be part of big east south (aka the acc after the football guys bounce).

Nfl about to have serious issues with lawsuits from former players, only a matter of time until colleges are too. Game will have to change immensely down the Road. Whenever that hits, basketball will hopefully have a resurgence.

Regardless, uconn will be fine bball wise, even if we have to be the Memphis of the big east for a little while

Such a conference would be good for UConn football-wise and good for Uconn basketball-wise. This is where UConn should be. The only question is one of money and access.

tons of "info" in conference realignment board
There is more guessing and opinions on the conference reallignment board than real factual information. There are rumors but nobody really has any clue how conference reallignment will end up because the situation is fluid and the possibilities almost endless.

I have read that board, mostly when things are actually happening. Rest of time it just infuriates me so I try to avoid.

While this is a homer comment, I do think the acc sunk themselves in a way going for Louisville. In doing so, and accepting a commuter school over a top public university in uconn for purely football reasons, they were actually signaling the other conferences and the acc members that this is how it's gonna go... And the other conferences and members will be even more inclined to act accordingly.

Fsu is as good as gone to the big 12, same story with others to the b1g.

Once Maryland wins or settles, it's on... The big four will go to 16 for the money

At least uconn will end up in a good bball league.

The b1g makes better decisions than the acc, have more power to do so... So uconn going there is unlikely, but who knows

Kamchatka??? You can't win at risk with Kamchatka... everyone knows that.
It all starts with Australia.

Therefore Austrailia and Uconn to Big 10...

You can't win the game with Rutgers either, but the Big10 is being bold... ;)
