Monmouth

Rutgers will be playing Rowan Soon

Then Stockton, Ramapo, Rutgers-Camden. This unlocks their OOC strategy.

Rutgers doesn't want to lose to us. They should avoid us like the plague.
Actually, I'm surprised that more program aren't looking at us for one offs. We are BCS and a pretty much a sure win at least based upon recent history.

Seems like a reasonable strategy seeing that they replaced the mighty AAC in the future with Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan State, Michigan and Wisconsin (5 of the top 12 2018 preseason projections). That should probably hold them for a while.

Spoke with an RU fan who was complaining about the RU B1G schedule and how hard it was for them complete. CL82 reply? "There are worse things, believe me."

Well they need to win 6 of their 3 OOC games to get bowl eligible.

Pretty much their only chance at bowl eligibility is to schedule absolute dreck in the OOC Schedule and hope that they don't slip up against any of them. This season they are playing Texas State, Buffalo, and Kansas. That is a dreadful schedule. They have to win all three of these games and hope that they can find three other victories among Indiana, UMD, IL, and NW. No easy task for a team that 2 years ago was getting pasted 78-0 at home.

Sorry, you can't afford that large a sum.
We're doing home and homes with BC and NC State. If you want to kiss Rutgers' behind, be my guest.

Until the AD decides to move that game to Gillette for a quick buck again
You should merge this with Whalers Old Tricks thread.

Rutgers AD Pat Hobbs talks expectations for football in 2018, future scheduling, Monmouth game and Horizon deal

>>NJ.com: It seems like a lot of your future games being scheduled including Northeast teams like Boston College, Temple, Syracuse and Monmouth. What's your general philosophy when it comes to scheduling for football?

Hobbs: "That (Northeast scheduling) is intentional. Coach Ash thinks that that’s helpful to building a program. These are programs that we compete against when we recruit. So at some point you have to go against those programs and you gotta make a statement about which program is building. That’s going to tell the young folks who are deciding between these programs, ‘Where do you want to spend the next four or five years of your life?’

"And then it’s fun. You get their fans here. Whether it’s Boston College or Syracuse, they're going to come down here. We hope we sell it out with Rutgers fans but we certainly welcome our opponent’s fans as well.''<<

The last time we played Umass I believe was P’s opening game at UConn. The stupid twins would use the ensuing two and a half years to ruin the program. In that game I believe Umass got the ball over midfield once. It was complete domination.

Were we to play Umass tomorrow they would be favored on our field. That’s how badly the program has been managed.

Should we play Umass? Sure. Nice regional opponent. Our expectation should be to have a winning mark over 900. Vastly different goals for these ADs.
