UIW vs SFA

I know Southland is a lower D1 conference, but is where my daughter is a grad assistant. The University of Incarnate Word beat SF Austin today. SFA is the #1 team in the conference. Huge win for these ladies!

If I may ask.... where in Texas is Incarnate located? I know where SFA is located.

I watched the Southland Final last season..... it was an very entertaining game.

It’s in San Antonio. We are from CT. So I have never been and won’t until the end of May.

The coaching staff is new except for one assistant. This was a huge win. Especially since SFA beat them by 20 last time they played

Incarnate Word is a much improved team. Last year they went 5-24 overall (vs. D-I teams) and 5-13 in the Southland. Right now they're 9-7 in conference, including wins over Abilene Christian, Sam Houston State, and now Stephen F Austin (3 of the top 4 teams).

UIW is now in 6th place and in very solid position to make the Southland tournament (only the top 8 qualify).

I visited San Antonio for a weekend 20 years ago. The Riverwalk area is great for a tourist... and I see that they have expanded it since I was down there. May is a probably the last good month to visit (I visited in April) .... warm.... but not the heat of the June-October months. Then again... you might like oppressive heat.

Yes I do. Loved Vegas in July!

That they are. I’m hoping they have a huge upset and play UConn in the first round. One can hope right??
