For those of you interested in Geno's assault on Pat Summitt's total career wins milestone.
We know that Stanford's Tara VanDerveer has already surpassed this number. VanDerveer, with 1,101 career wins, is the all-time winningest Division I women's basketball coach, but Geno is next in line to do it.

It is noteworthy, just as Edwin "Buzz" Aldren's decent down the ladder following Neil Armstrong made him the 2nd man to set foot on the moon in July 1969.

UConn women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma got nearer to tying late Tennessee coach Pat Summitt's career victory total on Tuesday, as the No. 3 Huskies defeated host Villanova 90-52. It gave Auriemma 1,096 wins, two off Summitt's mark. But another schedule change for UConn alters the date and opponent for when Auriemma could reach that.

Who cares about 2nd place.
I'm a little sick of ESPN's constant squeezing the lemon with the Geno-Pat thing. When Tara set the record there was not one writer pointing out that Pat played in the SEC while Stanford dominated the PAC for decades. Wait till Geno moves into 2nd place, the "easy" AAC will be mentioned.

Too bad we could not have timed it better so that we overtake it on TN floor.
