Trevardo is a first round prospect no doubt. With many teams in the NFL running the 3-4, his pass rush ability will be in high demand. Of all of UCONN's draft eligible players next year, I think he is the best prospect.
Vardo's NFL ability will be pegged to his ability to play in space. He will put up some silly workout numbers but at 6'1 240 nobody is going to have him line up with his hand on the ground in the NFL.
LT being 6'3" 235-40 that makes sense. But he could be a versatile player just the same. At this level not too many will be able to handle him off the edge 1 on 1.
I had an intense coach a LONG time ago who was very excitable. His stock phrase was "This fires me up!!!!" I read a story like this and get more fired up for Aug. 30.
I don't think he'll get picked in the first round because there won't be any film on Trevardo showcasing the skills he will use in the NFL. At the next level he will be asked to do a lot of things he's not asked to do now. He won't ever put his hand on the ground. He will need to play pass coverage occasionally.
Unless someone pulls a Bruce Irvin like stupid move in the first round, he won't get picked that high. Right now I'm thinking 3rd or 4th round.
