UConn's Kevin Ollie showing he can win recruiting battles

This is what I thought and many here probably did too, was going to happen immediately after our national championship. I admit I don't know much about the recruiting game but Adams and Enoch is a pretty good haul for this year, and KO would have been recruiting 6-8 months before the NC took place for last year's incoming class which had Hamilton. He is on a tremendous roll and I think his biggest coup is the transfers.

KO is a rock star. I can't imagine any recruit or his parents/guardian spending time with KO and not wanting to play for him. He will continue to crush it. Running a program is a lot easier when you identify the kids you want and then go land them.

I know that ESPN hating UConn actually had posted a piece about Ollie working on a monster recruiting class. As much as I hate ESPN for its socialist positions (helping divide the nation whenever possible, and glorifying people for things that are, shall we say - overrated) - I was curious if anybody could provide a summary w/o violating copyright laws. (Maybe we're not hated as much as we think, but they're just trying not to be locally biased. - Don't worry, just kidding there).

Are you Ndhuskyfan and Gblow the same person or did we randomly just start getting posts from 3 individual 7th grader level posters at the same?

I am occasionally on a 7th grade level. But, I'm none of the other characters - been angry with one, not the other. Check my other posts, and figure out if you think I'm a troll. Just drunk tonight, but you won't find the "general negative behavior or outlook" toward UConn hoops.

I'm with you. That was baffling and tells me he doesn't know what socialism is, as a concept.
When he finally gets sober and get's over his hangover he's going to look at his post and go Huh?

ESPN is not in the habit of ignoring facts. It would be difficult for them to say we have a bad recruiting class.

Don't be fooled, we are not on the ESPN hype list. That doesn't mean they hate us. They just tend to ignore us when possible.

You're being facetious, right? I don't want to take the bait. But, I've had a few tonight so I just might. Just don't want to. Please just telling me you're joking.

I'm just not sure you know what "socialist" means. But don't feel bad, neither does Palatine or a good number of the people posting on the Cesspool.

You know, I always suspected this, and, with your subtle prod, I started reviewing the ESPN broadcasts a little more closely and was more than a bit surprised to find that ESPN does not use "Executive Producer" or "Associate Producer" in their credits, but rather says, "Executive Means of Production" and "Associate Means of Production." That's true - you can look it up.

Does ESPN believe in central economic planning? "Sports today..........the World tomorrow!"

I think the sports world is prime for socialism. Hardly any pay differential.
And don't forget that their parent company, Disney, is a not-for profit.

THe only time KO had trouble recruiting was when he was in his 7 month trial period. His classes have become better and better w time.

Eh, let's not overlook this past fall and winter. We lost every major recruiting battle at a time when the team was also performing badly. There was some major hand-wringing on this board.

However, since April, KO has been absolutely killing it -- first with the transfers and then with the 2016 guys. The future was looking bleak only 6 months ago, but is looking much, much brighter now.

My comment was mostly based upon the stirring of the pot, always making the most of whatever issue. Bread and circus meets soap opera. Hey aren't these people so courageous? Aren't these offenses by athletes symptomatic of a larger problem, blah blah. I liked ESPN before they started giving the feel of US Weekly or whatever tabloid.

Not complaining about the way things are currently. Not by a long shot. But my gut tells me even better days are heading our way!

Yeah, but don't you feel he learned something? I'm happy. And I see thing getting better.

We lost most of those guys before the season even started, when our most recent game was 60-54. Just Stone really came later.
