Springer Counting On Fan Votes To Be Final All-Star Chosen

>>George Springer needs your vote.

Springer, the Astros outfielder from New Britain and UConn, was passed over for the All-Star Game, but he is in the "final five," a group of players from which fans will vote for the final player on the roster will be selected.

Springer is hitting .263 with 19 homers and 50 RBI for Houston. He is in his third season, but his first full season without an injury in the first half of the season, and he has responded with a breakout season. However, he did not garner enough votes from fans to be in the starting lineup, and was not among the reserves chosen by fans or manager Ned Yost of the Royals.<<

already voted for GS 50 times (as well as Marte in NL).

UConn ever had an MLB all-star besides Nagy?

We had a rookie of the year in Walt Dropo in 1950. He was an all star and also led the league in RBI.
