OK this chart is from last year -- I'm pretty sure it was posted here last spring -- but I came across it again while mucking around on the Fivethirtyeight Sports site today (one of Nan's links is to their audio discussion about this year's team). It's so cool that I figured it was worth another post:

I wonder how the chart will look at season's end this year? Pretty tough act to follow . . . .

There is another version of this that showed the trend over a few years and the uconn dot moving further away from the pack. It really is an amazing representation of the efficiency at both ends of the court.
An interesting thought is that if you did the same chart for 3/4 of the game instead of full game (thereby dropping out typical bench play minutes where the efficiency drops) the chart would likely be even more dramatic.
