[QUOTE="#12in21, post: 4700489, member: 10763"] This is the 38th post in this thread and will be only the second one to address the subject of the thread, just another example of Nika Mühl being unique in UCONN wcbb. Most threads find their tangent at some point but this one veered immediately and stayed with it. Where it went, in luck's role, is actually relevant to the subject matter of the OP's posted article - namely Nika Mühl. To paraphrase one or two responses, luck combined with being good can lead to success. Enter Nika, who signed on with Uconn days after Paige and when asked why she committed to Uconn days after the player considered the best coming out of high school, namely Paige - who played her same position - she answered that she wanted to challenge herself and to be the best you need to play against the best (intros case in practice against each other) and added she thought they could compliment and play we'll with each other. Most, if not all, on the Boneyard expected Nika to be Paige's backup at point guard, for most if not all her career at Uconn. Fast forward and entering her senior year Nika has started more games than anyone else on this year's roster, holds the all time single season and game assist records as well as career records for both consecutive and number of double digit assist games, appears multiple times, (with no one else appearing twice) on the all time list of highest assist games. She also enters the season as back to back BE DPOY. Few if any, even among her greatest supports (yours truly included), foresaw just how very impactful she has been entering her senior campaign. As we all know Nika has been a lightning rod on here so perhaps that is why with an article posted with the title " Nika Mühl is laser-focused on a national championship" that there is little mention of her on this thread. But for Nika it has always been about team, she is fiercely competitive and loyal in equal parts, so recognition from anywhere outside of her teammates and coaches is of little importance to her. One thing has been a constant from day one with Nika, she is committed to doing whatever she can to help her team succeed. Her final quote in the article' “My goal has been the same since my freshman year. It hasn't changed. That is to win a national championship,” Mühl said. “Whatever I have to do for however many minutes I have to do it to accomplish that goal, I'm all in.” So in terms of luck and success, I think it its fair to say that UCONN has been and is very lucky to have Nika Mühl as on of their own and she will be a piece of both the luck and talent it will take this season to bring home #12!
