Interesting that in the Hearst article, Coach Geno states "we're not #2" in the country.

He is a no-nonsense guy, and tells the truth, no matter whether the fans want to hear it or not.

Geno is more than likely right. It's certainly not an egregious ranking based on the way top teams have been dropping like flies, but rather on Uconn being ranked too high too early based on the typical standard of expectations and record. However, other ranked teams" losses, along with their weekly improvement, seems to be justifying their earlier higher ranking as the season progresses.
