I often had this same feeling about MoJeff. She wasn’t the biggest star in the team, but something about her game really resonated with me.

the Ball State University Women's Basketball team photo ( see
the Ball State WBB web site) . She is the one holding the ball!!
FYI Ball State will be playing Butler University, BIG EAST, early in the
season and shortly later... NOTRE DAME in South Bend!!.
I too like all of Bri's comments about Nika. I would like nothing
better than to see the Muhl working the reins on opposite teams.
( a bad attempt at an old association of mine, but that was 20
" Muhl" teams and many years ago, on another planet.... oh, never mind!)

I've been locked on to Caroline, Nika 2nd--for me Sue Bird was my player of choice even with her spending 20 years in the pro's. Finally another came along, Caroline. Nika, is my emotionally attachment---something about her, her toughtness, her never giving in, reminds me of some of those movies NY Bowery kids--tough and loveable.

Nika, infectiously likeable from the beginning and maddeningly stubborn about what a foul is, will retain her defensive crown and sprinkle it with offense to be The Rock of '22-'23.

IIRC, I believe the host was the very last of the 26 original Texas Rangers...great show, loved it.

It shouldn't, a superb young player who's only going to get better - and damn glad we have her on OUR roster...!

I dig Nika’s intensity and energy.
But I don’t have a cow when there’s suggestions regarding ways to improve her game and contribute to the team effort.
I think the BY agrees that her defensive skills and hustle are a big part of UCONN’s success the last 2 seasons.
I also believe that she MIGHT be a little less gun shy about taking it to the rim or taking a mid-range jumper or two just to keep defenses honest and prevent some of the double teaming and lane clogging.
But let’s keep in mind that her primary responsibility, when she’s on the floor, is defensive and slowing the opposing offense down, making them eat up their shot clock, and instilling a bit of caution when passing and dribbling.
Personally, I would be
pleased as punch to see her show some experience and maturity by reducing her tendency to lose her cool & commit some unnecessary fouls.
Can’t help the cause sitting on the bench.
If she could do that, I think Azzi & Caroline could do more with the extra 3 or 4 shots per game.
If Nika, Aubrey and Aliyah can keep 10 points from scoring between them, it’s as good as putting up 10 of our own.
I admit to being a bit defense- centric.
If Nika can put a couple more in the basket, though, I won’t cry.
