The Huskies are employing a unique setup to keep the players safe in their return to campus.

On some teams, there would be a concern that the pods could be a breeding ground for cliques. But Christyn Williams (a pod captain) isn’t worried about that happening. “Eventually, we’ll be able to be together,” she said. “But I don’t think it’s messing with our chemistry."

I wonder if they will ever change pod assignments at some point so that the girls can get to know other teammates as well.

Pod is such a strange word. I can't read or hear it without thinking of "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (the original, of course).

"My God, they're here!"
Hello Hal, do you read me?

It is a Navy Seals concept to develop bonds within units. Paul Azinger, Captain of the US Ryder cup team in 2008, implemented it first in sports (Golf) and led the US team to victory. Then other teams followed with equal success I think it is a great idea to do same in time of social distance and Pandemic.

Guessing CD was the real pod architect. And from the feedback gleaned from the pressers, she did a great job. :D
CD put Maya and Tina together as roommates in 2009-10. Maya rubbed off on Tina, and Tina won NPOY awards.
