Below link is to the series history for UConn vs UNC. Some items of note:

-UConn leads the series 9-4 after losing 4 of the first 6 in the series.
-The first meeting was a loss by UConn in the East Regional final on 3/26/94 (Rebecca Lobo's junior season). It would be their last loss until the 1995-96 season as they would go unbeaten in the 1994-95 season and win their first national championship.
-UConn would win the next two games in the series and then would lose the next three.
-UConn's 77-54 loss on 12/05/05, which would be their second of 3 losses in a row to UNC, was one of the worst home losses of the Geno era. UNC was too athletic and basically ran UConn off the court.
-From 2008-2012, UConn and UNC were meeting on annual basis, and UConn turned the tables on the series and basically had their way with the Tar Heels all five games during this time period before the series was put on pause.
-In 2023-24, UConn would make the final 4 with a very thin rotation. But before their unlikely run, there were some bumps in the road with early season losses (all by double digits) to NC State, UCLA, and Texas. UConn's win over UNC was a much needed win against a ranked opponent and was the 2nd game of a 13 game winning streak that somewhat "righted the ship" to go on that run.
-The 11/15/2024 game (a 69-58 win by UConn) was an early season matchup. It was the team's and freshman sensation Sarah Strong's first game of the season that was aired on national tv (in addition to being in Sarah's home state of NC), and UConn's first game of the season against a ranked opponent. It would be one of their biggest quality wins of the regular season.

This game was closer than I liked to see, and when Reniya went down to injury, the Heels couldn't comeback. It's interesting how important she turned out to be to the team, much more than Deja had been,

The 4 losses to No Carolina were not to this teams over powering defense which happens to be Uconn's best weapon for winning as it has been all season. 30 point blow out. GO HUSKIES!!!!!
