Dating back to 2003, UConn has 63 wins and went 3-2 in bowls. Duke has 39 wins and went 0-2 in bowls (2 of their bowls came in '13 and '12).

Uconn definitely has a better football program than Duke right? I'm making the comparison because I can't figure out where Duke football came from and why they are able to recruit so well? Duke went winless in '06, '01, and '00!! 1 win in '07 and '05

Two words: David Cutcliffe
Ole Miss screwed the pooch when they fired that guy. It's why I always say, the right coach can win big ANYWHERE.

This. A great coach hire makes all the difference. Look at Louisville hitting home runs with Petrino (at least the first time around) and Strong. Now everyone thinks they're a combination of Ohio St, Alabama, and USC all while forgetting the Kragthorpe years.

Cutcliffe went 4-8 5-7 3-9 and 3-9 in his first 4 years at duke. Duke went 1-11 the year before Cutcliffe took over the program, so he's had bad years before they became relevant.

Different programs and conferences, but hopefully we don't go through the same growing pains!

Cut is a good coach, but he could not win in the SEC opposing the big boys in that conf.

Huh?

In the time from 1997 to 2003, the Rebels played in six bowl games, tied with Arkansas for the most bowl appearances among SEC Western Division schools during that span.

Cutcliffe had four winning seasons in his first five seasons at Ole Miss, in 1999 (8–4), 2000 (7–5), 2001 (7–4) and 2002 (7–6), becoming the first Rebel mentor since Harry Mehre (1938–41) to post winning marks in his first five years. Cutcliffe also directed Ole Miss to four bowl appearances in his first five seasons, and is the only head coach in Ole Miss history to do so.

In 2003 Cutcliffe guided the Rebels to a 10–3 overall mark and a share of the SEC West title with eventual BCS National Champion LSU. Following their 31–28 victory over Oklahoma State in the Cotton Bowl Classic, the Rebels finished #13 in the final poll.

Nothing screams how far we have fallen as a program then a thread comparing us to Duke, in FB. Four years ago, they were in our rearview mirror. Looking forward to the return of UCFB.
