After tonight, UConn will have played 6 top 25 ranked teams. 6 of UConn's first 15 games against top competition. ND meanwhile has had ZERO games against a team in this week's top 25. UConn does have one more loss.

And yet ND is ranked 20th and UConn is unranked.

The fact that we are banned will play a small role in every voter's decision. Unfair? Yes. Motivation? Yes.

If the basketball gods didn't screw us at Marquette we would be in the top 25. But being unranked and taking down #1 is more fun than being 24 or 25.

Definitely.

Sucks that the ban also affected Shabazz getting snubbed for the Cousy nomination as well.

weird

I'm curious about your (and other UL fans') opinion of Siva. It looked like Siva was on the AA track by about his Sophmore year (I thought his trajectory would mirror Kemba's somewhat), but he seems about the same as he did a few years ago.

Granted, I haven't watched UL this year at all, but last year it looked like he hadn't gotten much better (or rather didn't improve on some of his weakness, such as his mid-long range game).

I was wondering if it was just a case of Russ Smith's emergence and the availability of many more weapons that he doesn't need to do as much (?).

Seems like a great kid.

Louisville fans love Peyton Siva. Last season, he spent nearly the entire year hurt - a nagging high ankle sprain. When it got better, so did Louisville.

He is the straw that stirs the drink. He is the coach on the floor and the tempo-setter. By now - his senior year - he sees more elements of the game which simply make him among the most complete players I have ever watched, particularly at PG. He still has rockets for wheels, can jump out of the roof and fouls way too often, taking absurd risks, lol, 80 feet from the basket. He's controlled that a bit better, but, make no mistake, he makes us better.

With his shot coming around, he's a great alternative if Russ has indeed entered a slump. Russ simply took the ball and scored points, in volume quantities at a time - for most of the season. I expect some coaching to slow Russ down. Peyton has reacted with near 20 point games. Offensively, we are vastly different from what we were in any other year.

Some Louisville fans think he's the best PG in America. I do too.

Most of us UCONN fans are also fans of PS's game. He is fun to watch. The last 3 years he has played his best ball against us and I am hoping he is do for a off night- fat chance.

Well, yes, you are doomeded, lol. Peyton played some of his very best basketball against you guys. Frankly, the head to heads with Kemba was some of the best guard play any of us ever watched. He has been so entertaining for me....his hops are out of this world.
